Cross That Bridge When We Come to It

We made it to the Fourth Street Bridge in late afternoon, with bright light and haze obscuring the skyline. (Next time we'll have to try the First Street Bridge around sunrise.) Then we crossed to the east and found a couple good warehouse backgrounds on Anderson Street.

Nestled on the roof of Walt Disney Concert Hall is the Blue Ribbon Garden. These photos were taken in the area between the W.M. Keck Foundation Children's Amphitheatre and the administrative offices, near the stairs leading down to Hope Street.

Where better to take some tuxedo shots than arguably the most famous building in Los Angeles, the Frank Gehry-designed Walt Disney Concert Hall?

Let's Go, Bruins!

Athletes aways perform better when the pressure is off, and apparently the same thing is true for standing there having your picture taken. Purely for fun, we went to Broad Art Center and snapped a few shots with one of the "Aloha" shirts the UCLA basketball band used to wear, and we think they're probably the best photos of the entire weekend.

Arts District, Part 1

The Arts District on the edge of downtown Los Angeles is filled with murals, graffiti, and all kinds of warehouses, grates, and alleys. It's an eclectic mix of gritty and upscale and an ideal backdrop for an outfit that pairs boots with a more conservative coat and tie.

Pink Wall

Paul Smith is a British designer, and his Los Angeles outpost is situated in a trendy design district between Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. The shop occupies a square building that just happens to be painted bubble-gum pink, making a great backdrop for a simple, classic outfit.

Urban Light

The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is one of my favorite spots in town—especially Chris Burden's 2008 sculpture "Urban Light," which sits out front and beckons visitors to enter and interact with the artwork. We braved an early morning departure to beat the crowds and happily had the place to ourselves.
